Tragic! Over 31 People Dead In Iran Train Crash

At least 31 people have been confirmed dead in a recent train crash in Iran, this tragic incident happened this Friday when a train ran into the back of an intercity express which had broken down earlier. Over 70 people were admitted into a hospital immediately after the crash in the Northern Province of Semnan; on the the border between Tehran and Mashlad.

The express train which operates one of Iran's longest distance services from Tabriz in the Northwest to Mashlad had been forcefully stopped between stations due to a mecha nical failure, most likely caused by the cold November weather, Mohammad Reza Khabbaz reported.

Two coaches were immediately set ablaze at the course of the crash, eye witnesses said that they saw people being taken out of the train on fire. This is such a tragic scenario and we mourn with those who has lost their loved ones to this.

The front four coaches of the second train — running from Semnan to Masshad — derailed and overturned.
